St. Clair County in Illinois — the nation's fourth largest jurisdiction for asbestos litigation — shows no sign of a downward trend, despite declines in courts across the rest of the country. That's the topic of a story published in the Madison-St. Clair Record.
The story points to KCIC's mid-year asbestos litigation update, which found that the number of new cases filed in St. Clair County through June 30, 2018, stood at 155, compared to 70 at the same point in time last year. While asbestos filings in courts across the country appear to be down by 10%, the number of new cases being filed in St. Clair County Circuit Court have more than doubled from a year ago.
