I hope to see you at the 2023 DRI Asbestos Medicine Seminar, November 15-17, 2023 in Austin, Texas. On the first day, I look forward to serving as co-moderator of a panel discussion on diversity, just as I did last year.
It will be “Part Two” of DRI’s multi-year examination of the experiences and challenges of being a lawyer who is part of a minority group. This year, the panel will take a deep dive into what it means to be an Asian American in a defense law firm. With panelists hailing from the so-called “near east” to “far east,” the discussion will build on the highly successful approach rolled out last year in DRI’s presentation for the Black American lawyer’s experience.
Once again, I will co-moderate with Mahsa Kashani Tippins, DCo LLC, Nashville. This year she brings perspective as someone whose family roots are in Iran. Together, we will facilitate conversations with lawyers with familial backgrounds hailing from the continent of Asia:
Macy M. Chan (China)
Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP, Los Angeles
Hannah Lee Mohrman (Korea)
Bowman and Brooke LLP, Los Angeles
Raghu N. Bandlamudi (India)
MG+M Law, New York, N.Y.
I am proud to be a part of this initiative by DRI to deepen its approach to diversity and inclusion. KCIC is also a proud sponsor of the 2023 DRI Asbestos Medicine Seminar. You can register for the conference here.
